Who We Are
CastWhen is a Canadian-focused fishing discovery and information platform designed to help anglers explore fishing locations, understand different rigs, and make more informed decisions before heading onto the water. Whether fishing from shore, exploring coastal waters, or venturing offshore, CastWhen brings practical fishing knowledge and location information together in one accessible platform. Our goal is to make finding fishing opportunities and selecting the right equipment simpler for anglers of all experience levels.
What We Do
1. Inshore Fishing Discovery
Help anglers identify fishing locations with relatively precise geographic information where available. Information may include shoreline access points, fishing structures, nearby habitat, target species, and suitable fishing techniques.
2. Offshore Fishing Areas
Help offshore anglers explore broader fishing regions rather than relying on individual GPS points. These guides focus on general fishing zones, potential target species, seasonal considerations, and appropriate fishing equipment and techniques.
3. Fishing Rig Library
Provide practical explanations and visual guides for different fishing rigs, including their components, intended uses, suitable conditions, and target species.
4. Fishing Knowledge
Help anglers understand fishing environments, tackle choices, techniques, and responsible fishing practices.
Our Mission
To make fishing knowledge and location discovery more accessible, organized, and useful for anglers across Canada.
Our Vision
To become a trusted North American fishing discovery and education platform, beginning in Canada and expanding into the United States.
Our Audience
CastWhen serves recreational anglers, beginners, experienced fishermen, shore anglers, inshore enthusiasts, and offshore fishing communities.
